Historical Note
United Airlines, Inc., commonly referred to as United, is a major United States airline headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. United was established by the amalgamation of several airlines in the late 1920s, the oldest of these being Varney Air Lines, which was founded in 1926. The airline merged with Continental Airlines in 2010, making it one of the world's largest airlines with hundreds of domestic and international destinations.

The Susan "Kelly" A. Riley United Airlines Flight Attendant Collection is comprised of textual materials and photographs related to Riley's career as a stewardess during the 1960s. There are two (2) United Airlines (UAL) Mainliner Stewardess diplomas (1961, 1963) for Riley; including the cases they were housed in.
