1910 Los Angeles Air Meet newspaper clippings

Contents of the Collection The collection is one (1) scrapbook of assorted newspaper clippings related to the 1910 International Air Meet at Dominguez Field in Los Angeles, California. The scrapbook is coverless with a failing binding. The clippings are from assorted unidentified newspapers and are glued to the pages, though some are loose.

It is unknown who collected the clippings.

69 Squadron Israel Air Force Photograph Collection

Content Description This collection is comprised of four color photographs of first Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and his wife, Paula, with 69 Squadron, Israel Air Force, inspecting Boeing B-17 aircraft that had participated in Israel's War of Independence in 1948. Included is a detailed description of how three repurposed B-17s shifted Israel's air potential during the war.

Contents of the Collection The Air Show and Race materials is a small collection pertaining to assorted historic air events from 1911 to 1947. The collection is comprised of several newspapers, magazines, directories, and programs for the 1911 International Air Show and Aviation Meet in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois; the 1924 Air Races in Dayton, Ohio; and the 1930, 1933, 1934, 1935, 1936, 1937, 1938, and 1947 National Air Races.

Raymond Aldrich Pan American World Airways Collection

Contents of the Collection This small collection is comprised of a twenty-three page booklet on the history of Pan American Airways, dated 1958. The history begins with Pan American's first flight from Key West to Havana in 1927 and its expansion of routes into the Caribbean, South America, China, and Europe, as well as the introduction of jets into service in 1958. The back of the booklet includes a table of growth in air speed, route miles, passengers, miles flown, and employees between 1927 and 1958.

American Fighter Aces Association Oral Interviews

Norman "Jim" S. Archibald Collection

Abstract Norman "Jim" Silas Archibald (1894-1975) of Seattle, Washington served in the U.S. Army Air Service, 95th Aero Squadron during World War I, and later published a bestselling book on his experience. He served again in the Air Force during World War II at home in Seattle. The collection contains correspondence, military documents, photographs, and other materials relating to Archibald's life and military service.
