Biographical Note: Dave M. Carver

Dave M. Carver was a pilot for United Airlines in teh second half of the 20th century.

Dave Morris Carver was born on April 27, 192 in Oregon. He attended Hillsborough High School and Pacific University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radioman, stationed in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. After the war he served as a flight instructor and managed a seaplane base. He joined United Airlines January 17, 1952, working with them until April 30, 1984. During the course of his career he flew Douglas DC-3s, DC-4s, DC-5s, DC-7s, DC-8s, and DC-10s as well as Boeing 720s and 727s.

Carver died on October 30, 2018.

Contents of the Collection The Dave M. Carver Pilot Collection is a small collection consisting of textual materials related to Carver's career as a pilot with United Airlines. Included are a business card for him from his time as a United Captain and a program from his memorial service in 2018.
