Content Description

The David Gallagher Boeing 747 Photograph Collection is a small collection consisting of 39 8x10" black-and-white photographss that were taken in early 1968 of the Boeing 747 assembly process. There are 15 photos taken on January 4; 15 photos taken on February 29; one photo taken on March 3; four photos taken on March 6; one photo taken on March 23; and three taken on April 24, 1968. The images depict pieces of the fuselage being positioned together.

Contents of the Collection

The Gary Garofano Photograph Collection is a small collection of photographs and prints, circa 1972-1973, depicting Boeing SST mock-up landing gear (including the steering linkage, main strut, side strut, and uplock mechanism), SST concept art, Boeing 747, and the Minuteman Missile. Most of the images are in black-and-white although the Minuteman images are in color. There is no identifying information on the photographs.

Abstract

David O. Hill (1939-) was a pilot for Seaboard World Airlines (SWA). Hill was also SWA's archivist and historian. The collection relates to the company history, personnel, and operations of Seaboard World Airlines (SWA), from its establishment in 1946 to 1980 when it merged with Flying Tigers Line and is comprised primarily of textual materials, the bulk of which are scrapbooks; but also includes photographic materials, including prints, slides, and negatives; and a single DVD.

The David Hopp Collection of Walter Dorwin Teague Associates Boeing 747 Interiors Drawings is a collection of conceptual drawings for interior aircraft cabin spaces for the Boeing 747 by Walter Dorwin Teague Associates from 1972. In total there are 71 sheets, including both blueprints and pencil on tracing paper drawings. The drwaings mostly focus on ceiling and upper deck and seating. Some are signed by "Taylor". Several are numbered as BOE-8012-100-B-174.

The Harry G. Leech Boeing 747 Collection is comprised of color photographs, diagrams, and notes related to the Boeing 747. Included in the collection are 103 8x10 inch photographs of aircraft cabin interior design and images related to the Saudi Executive Airplane 747-SP.
