Victoria M. DeVines Douglas Aircraft Photograph and Lithograph Collection

Contents of the Collection This small collection contains photographs and lithographs of Douglas Aircraft, 1933-1958. There are seven 8x10" black-and-white photographs of the Douglas DC series. Each of the aircraft are depicted in flight and several images include Douglas Aircraft Co. stamps on the reverse. The collection is comprised of a small photograph album, loose photographs, a prisoner of war diary, and assorted research documents pertaining to the World War I service and prisoner of war (POW) experience of Lieutenant Lionel Cherry Gilmour (1891-1973), pilot of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and its predecessor, the Royal Flying Corps (RFC).

The Roy Herbert Royal Air Force (RAF) World War II Collection is comprised of materials relating to Herbert's RAF service as part of the 103rd Squadron during World War II. The materials were likely gathered by Herbert and include military identification and records, black-and-white portraits of Roy Herbert, clippings and photocopies related to the 103rd Squadron and its members, and a lithograph of a Lancaster B.I, which was utilized by the 103rd Squadron during the Battle of Britain.
