Series I. Aircraft
Scope and Contents
The Aircraft series contains posters and lithographs depicting a variety of airplanes. The focus of these materials are the planes, with very little text or other visual elements. Common items in this collection feature a photograph of a specific model in flight with a label identifying the plane below. Notable manufacturers present in this series include Beechcraft, Cessna, Convair, Curtiss, Douglas, Grumman, and Lockheed.
This series does not include posters of planes from before World War I. Posters of balloons, dirigibles, and helicopters can also be found in other series within this collection.
