The collection contains a single-page typed letter from G. C. Westervelt to P. N. Jansen of the Curtiss Engineering Corporation, dated June 3, 1919. The letter to "My Dear Jansen" expresses gratitude for Jansen's "oversight of the construction of NC Flying boats" and offers congratulations on the "success of the [Curtiss] NC-4." It is signed by G. C. Westervelt, Commander, United States Navy.

The Kenneth Woods Naval Aircraft Photographs is a collection of twenty-two (22) black-and-white photographs featuring United States Naval Aircraft, primarily floatplanes and flying boats from 1918-circa 1920s. The photographs are 18x22" and most do not have captions or identifying information. A variety of aircraft are featured, including the Vought OS2U Kingfisher, the Consolidated PBY Catalina, and the Curtiss SOC Seagull. The aircraft are pictured in flight and on the water.
