The Nordhoff and Dunnam Families Collection contains items relating to the World War I and II service of the Nordhoff and Dunnam families.

William Orthman (1911-1990) was drafted into the United States Army in 1942. He served in the China-Burma-India Theater as Public Relations Officer. The collection is comprised of 340 photographs and a small amount of textual materials from his 1945-1946 service.

William Dummer Powell was born in about 1906 in Canada, became a United States citizen in 1935 and served in the Army Air Force 449th Bomb Group as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. The collection consists of a small amount of military documents, personal documents, and twenty-five (25) photographs primarily related to Powell's World War II service in the Army Air Force.

Michael T. Russo (1920-2006) was born in Cleveland, Ohio and joined the U. S. Army Air Corps in 1941 as a fighter pilot. Russo attained Ace status while fighting in the European and Mediterranean Theaters of Operation. The collection contains photographs, textual materials and ephemera related to the World War II experience of American Fighter Ace Michael T. Russo.

Seymour Rutberg (1919-2009) was a Jewish American World War II pilot. The collection documents Seymour Rutberg's World War II service as a pilot as well as his post-war service and veteran activities. A smaller amount of material is personal in nature. Most items are dated 1941-1952 and types of material include military records, flying logs, clippings, correspondence, reports and photographs.

This small collection relates to Lieutenant Schuster's time serving as a United States Army Air Force pilot in the Pacific Theater during World War II, circa 1939-1945. The collection includes his official military flying and travel records, as well as a photograph of a B-32 bombing.

The Charles E. Selge Pilot Collection is a small collection of textual and photographic materials dating from 1932-2021. The materials are related to Selge’s pilot career, most notably his time as an early aerobatic pilot with the Art (Arthur) Davis School of Aviation, Lansing, Michigan and his military service.

Walter A. Smith, Jr. served in the United States Air Force for over 30 years and was an active member of the P-47 Pilots Association. The collection contains materials relating to Walter Smith's Air Force career and World War I-era music collected by his wife, Flossie Smith.
