Contents of the Collection

The Carroll H. Nevermann World War II Collection is comprised of textual materials relating to the 1941-1945 military service of 2nd Lieutentant Nevermann, a pilot in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. It includes Nevermann's "Pilot Qualifications Log," 1941-1945; military records, such as Nevermann's flight records for 1944-1945, training reports and certifications, and checklists; and printed ephemera, including paper money from China and customs declaration tags. There are also five newspapers, ranging from 1943-1945:

  • Dawn, July 28, 1945 (Delhi, India)
  • Edinburgh Evening News, November 20, 1943 (Edinburgh, Scotland)
  • The Statesman, July 30, 1945 (Calcutta, India)
  • Sunday Post, November 21, 1943 (Glasgow, Scotland)
  • unidentified Chinese or Japanese language newspaper, undated, circa 1943-1945

Biographical Note: Caroll H. Nevermann

Caroll H. Nevermann was a pilot in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. 2nd Lieutenant Nevermann flew the Curtiss C-46 Commando aircraft and was stationed in India during 1945. No further information is known.
