The collection is comprised of four photographs of Northwest Airways aircraft, dated August 1933. Aircraft include a Ford Tri-motor 5AT (NC8410), Travel Air 6000 (NC8754), Stearman C3 (NC6255), and Sikorsky S-38 (NC303N). Photographs were taken at the Northwest Airways Overhaul Base at Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Content Description The John McCullough Early Boeing Photographs is a small collection consisting of nine photographs depicting Boeing Company employees and aircraft, circa 1930. Four images depict aircraft including a Stearman C-3, Boeing 203s, a Boeing 203A, a Loening C-2C air ferry, and a glider built by the Mattley Airplane and Motor Company. Abstract

Richard J. McWhorter (1921-2007) was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho and had a long standing and multi-faceted interest in aviation, including owning and restoring vintage airplanes. The collection includes manuscript materials, ephemera, audio-visual materials, and approximately three hundred (300) photographs documenting the restoration of a Stearman C-3B (#NC7550), on display at The Museum of Flight, as well as a Stearman C-3R (#NC656K).
