The Emile Chourré and Chourré Family Papers is comprised of documents and scrapbooks, photographic prints and photograph albums, and assorted ephemera primarily pertaining to the life and military career of Lieutenant Commander Emile Chourré (1894-1938). Major topics include Chourré's military service, especially while stationed in Coco Solo, Panama; his service as a U.S. Naval announcer for the 1929-1931 and 1933-1934 National Air Races; and family (immediate and extended) photographs.

Contents of the Collection
The collection includes route maps, schedules, and brochures by Northwest Airlines and Western Air Lines, circa 1940s. Materials from both airlines feature the Douglas DC-4 and DC-3 aircraft in their promotional art. Also included is a Souvenir Air Log by Northwest Airlines, which unfolds to a reversible map that features domestic and international routes along with trivia about the science of air travel.

Charles B. D. Collyer (1896-1928) enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps during World War I. After the war
Collyer broke the record for circumnavigation of the globe. On the return trip, Collyer died attempting to break his own record. The collection contains correspondence about naming an airfield in his honor as well as a photograph and drawing of Collyer.

Contents of the Collection
The collection is comprised of two (2) color decals of United States west coast-based airlines, circa 1920s - 1930s. Decals include: a red, white, black, yellow and blue oval-shaped 5x3.5" decal by West Coast Air Transport Company that features the names and travel times of four cities at the top, a tri-motored super air pullman at center, and fields for passenger contact information; a red and white wing-shaped 4.75x2.125" decal by Pickwick Latino Americana. with text, "Servicios Aereos."

Born in Scotland, John Cook (1899-) was a mechanic who worked on the engines that powered the Douglas World Cruisers that completed the first circumnavigation of the globe by air. Cook also served in the military for thirty-six years and later was a Quality Control Inspector for the Air Force Aircraft program at Boeing. Hamilton "Ham" Coolidge (1895-1918) was one of many young men from wealthy New England families who enlisted during World War I. The collection contains materials related to Captain Coolidge's service a pilot with the U.S. Army Air Service 94th Aero Squadron. Coolidge achieved Ace status, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, and was killed in action.
