Contents of the Collection
The World War I era Photographs is a small collection of twenty-four black-and-white vintage prints of unknown origin that depict aircraft and military personnel of World War I, circa 1914-1919. Scenes include military aircraft and personnel, primarily German forces. A few aircraft are shown in flight but most prints show aircraft that have been shot down or crashed. Identified people include René Fonck, Paul von Hindenburg, and John J. Pershing. Identified locations include Château-Thierry and...
