Bea Chun Flight Attendant Collection
Contents of the Collection
The Bea Chun Flight Attendant Collection is comprised of textual materials collected by Chun during her tenure as a flight attendant for American Airlines and Braniff Airlines, spanning from 1980-2006.
The bulk of the material is from American Airlines, 1996-2006, including a 25th anniversary pin and brochure, assorted policy booklets, such as "Uniforms and Appearance Standards," Polar Flight Operations," and "You are Alert and Alive;" printed ephemera, including crew rest seat reservation cards and baggage receipts. Notable items include labor dispute materials, including a 20x26-inch poster "Don't Fly American Airlines / Help Us Clear the Air / We want to keep flying for you! / American Airlines Flight Attendants" and a bumper sticker that reads "American Airlines Flight Attendants May STRIKE After July 1, 2001."
Less well-represented is Braniff Airways. Materials include a 1980 memo on new smoking signs for aircraft, an inflight sales deposit envelope, blank inflight injury forms, blank flight attendant comment tally sheets, and a blank report of irregularity form. There is also a 1987 Air France boarding pass for Chun.
