Alden Drew Simonson Military Aviation Collection
Content Description
The Alden Drew Simonson Military Aviation Collection is a small collection consisting of textual and visual materials documenting Simonon's military service with the U.S. Navy during World War II and with the North Dakota Air National Guard after the war. The collection includes a "Flying the Weather" training booklet from the U.S. Navy with Alden's annotations; a logbook documenting his flights primarily at Naval Air Station Pensacola; separation records from his service with the U.S. Navy; individual flight records, an officer's training booklet, and other military records from his service with the North Dakota Air National Guard; and two formal 8x10" black-and-white photographic portraits of Alden in Naval uniform.
