Wiley Williams Space Collection
Content Description
The Wiley Williams Space Collection is a collection of textual and visual materials collected by Williams during his career as an engineer for Grumman and NASA in the 1950s and 1960s.
Williams himself is documented with clippings about him, a poster from Grumman acknowledging his work, and photographs of him. The photographs are all 8x10" black-and-white official NASA photos depicting him with colleagues during the course of his work.
Related to Gemini missions, there is a press kit for NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center and a Gemini 9 booklet.
Several Apollo missions are represented in the collection: there is a guest pass for the Apollo 9 viewing area at Kennedy Space Center; two welcome home reception programs for Apollo 10; Grumman-issued decal, brochure, and press kit for the Apollo 11 lunar module; a photo of Charles Conrad on the moon during Apollo 12; a signed color 8x10" photograph of the Apollo 13 crew; a letter and decal related to Apollo 15; and a decal from Apollo 17.
Finally, there is an invitation for a 10th anniversary event in honor of the first U.S. manned space flight signed by Alan Shepard.
