Contents of the Collection

The Brian J. Donnelly Bikini Atoll Collection is a small collection comprised of two items: a map and a booklet likely collected by Donnelly during his military service from 1945-1968. The map is a photocopy of a hand-drawn map of Kwajalein Island showing locations of the runway and other United States military structures. A handwritten note shows the location of the atomic bomb storage area. The booklet is titled, A. A. F. Drone Unit, and includes a history of drone aircraft to that point, circa 1940s, as well as illustrations and photographic reproductions of locations, activities, roster information, and structures..
