Biographical Note

H. Truesdell Smith (1898-1995) was an American exhibition parachutist and skydiver. He performed mainly as "Smitty the Jumper." Although the majority of his jumps were done in the 1920s-1930s, Smith made jumps every decade and was known as "the oldest living skydiver" until his death in 1995.
