The Museum of Flight Biographical Information Files
Scope and Contents
The Biographical Files are an artifical collection with textual and photographic files on prominent people, groups, and events in the space and aviation industries. Over 1500 individuals and a couple dozen groups are represented with textual material such as original and photocopies of newspaper clippings, articles, obituaries and other printed ephemera such as brochures and tickets, as well as photographic and digital prints and photocopied images. Materials come from various sources, including unsolicited or unaccessioned donations or from staff and volunteers. The collection is useful for general reference purposes.

Conditions Governing Use
The Museum of Flight (TMOF) Archives is the owner of the physical materials in the archives and makes available reproductions for research, publication, and other uses. Written permission must be obtained from TMOF archives before any publication use. TMOF does not necessarily hold copyright to all of the materials in the collections. In some cases, permission for use may require seeking additional authorization from copyright owners. Consult repository for more details.

Note on Arrangement
The files are arranged in alphabetical order by last name. Photographs and textual information for each individual are in separate folders, with photographic files filed behind textual files. Information on groups, organizations and events is at the end of the collection.
Custodial History
As an artificial collection, these materials were collected and acquired through a variety of sources. Provenance information has not been maintained for all items.

Information is added regularly and the finding aid is updated.
