Biographical Note

Walter Cunningham (1932–2023) was best known as an American astronaut. He was the lunar module pilot on the 1968 Apollo 7 mission. Cunningham went on to head up the Skylab branch of the Flight Crew Directorate and left NASA in 1971. Additionally he was a fighter pilot in the United State Marines during the 1950s. In 1977, he published "The All-American Boys," about his astronaut experience.
