Historical Note

Southwest Airways was a local service carrier on the West Coast of the United States that operated scheduled passenger flights from 1941 to 1958. It changed its name to Pacific Air Lines in 1958. The airline ceased operations in 1968 when it merged with Bonanza Air Lines and West Coast Airlines to form Air West.
