Colonel Merle Coons (1921-1997) was a United States Air Force fighter pilot, earning ace status during World War II. The collection is a subset of the American Fighter Aces Collection and includes primarily textual materials, such as military orders and records, flight records and a log book, and a scrapbook, as well as a photograph album and a small amount of loose photographs.
Arthur E. Easterbrook Collection
Arthur E. Easterbrook (1893-1950) held a long career with the U.S. Air Force, beginning as an observer during World War I and later as a recruiter and commanding officer at numerous bases. The collection contains photographs, clippings, and paper ephemera relating to Easterbrook's life and military career.
Lee R. Embree Collection
Lee R. Embree (1915-2008) was born in Iowa, enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1936, and was assigned to the 38th Reconnaisance Squadron as an aerial photographer during World War II. Embree was at Hickam Field, Hawaii during the 1941 Pearl Harbor bombing and took several photographs. The collection contains photographs, textual materials, audiovisual materials, and a scrapbook that relate to Embree's military service and photography as well as his post-war photography activities.

The collection contains materials relating to Halden H. Emrick's personal life and varied aviation career as a pilot's instructor during World War I, chief pilot for Curtiss-Wright and other aircraft companies, and a stunt pilot during the heyday of barnstorming in the 1920s and 1930s.

The Lloyd E. Frisbee Aeronautical Engineering Collection documents the career of aeronautical engineer Lloyd E. Frisbee. The collection dates from 1938 to 2012 and chronicles Frisbee's career achievements as an engineer starting with the Boeing Company, followed by Northrop Corporation, and lastly his time with the Lockheed Company. The materials emphasize his work on the Lockheed L-1011 Tristar aircraft.
James D. Griffin Photograph Collection
James D. Griffin was an engineer for McDonnell Douglas Corporation. The collection contains five hundred and ninety-six (596) photographs, likely collected and notated by Griffin, featuring primarily Douglas Aircraft Company airplanes manufactured during the 1910s-1970s but also, to a lesser extent, other manufacturer models; including Aero Spacelines, Boeing, Consolidated, and Northrop. There is also a small amount of clippings, newsletters, and articles.
