Scope Note: Ross Field, home of the Arcadia Balloon School, was a World War I airfield built on the site of a former racetrack in Arcadia, California. After World War I it was used for a military carrier pigeon unit and later served as a filming location for Columbia Pictures before the buildings were demolished in the early 1930s. Since 1935, it has been the site of the Arcadia County Park and Golf Course.
