Abstract

William E. Boeing, Sr. (1881-1956) was an aviation pioneer and founded The Boeing Company in 1916. The collection holds textual materials, such as correspondence, philately, business-related materials, clippings, and ephemera, as well as photographs and illustrations related to his personal and business life, circa 1783-2008. Major areas of interest include family photographs and extensive personal and business-related correspondence.

Contents of the Collection The Early Aviation Photograph Album is comprised of a single album with 82 black-and-white photographs that depict aircraft and pilots. Most are dated between 1922-1927, although some are undated. It is not known who compiled the album. The album is black with "Photographs" printed on the cover. The binding is fairly loose and wear is visible on the album. Within the album, the photographs mostly depict aircraft, including biplanes, floatplanes, and seaplanes. Identified aircraft...
