Contents of the Collection This small collection contains photographs and lithographs of Douglas Aircraft, 1933-1958. There are seven 8x10" black-and-white photographs of the Douglas DC series. Each of the aircraft are depicted in flight and several images include Douglas Aircraft Co. stamps on the reverse. There are also twenty 8x10" black-and-white lithographs of assorted Douglas aircraft. The lithographs feature an image on the front and a three-view of the same aircraft on the reverse. Also...

James D. Griffin Photograph Collection

Abstract

James D. Griffin was an engineer for McDonnell Douglas Corporation. The collection contains five hundred and ninety-six (596) photographs, likely collected and notated by Griffin, featuring primarily Douglas Aircraft Company airplanes manufactured during the 1910s-1970s but also, to a lesser extent, other manufacturer models; including Aero Spacelines, Boeing, Consolidated, and Northrop. There is also a small amount of clippings, newsletters, and articles.

David O. Hill Seaboard World Airlines Collection

Abstract

David O. Hill (1939-) was a pilot for Seaboard World Airlines (SWA). Hill was also SWA's archivist and historian. The collection relates to the company history, personnel, and operations of Seaboard World Airlines (SWA), from its establishment in 1946 to 1980 when it merged with Flying Tigers Line and is comprised primarily of textual materials, the bulk of which are scrapbooks; but also includes photographic materials, including prints, slides, and negatives; and a single DVD.

Content Description

The Lynn H. Morrison DC-8 rollout slides consist of 10 color 35mm slides depicting the rollout of the DC-8 circa 1958. The aircraft is painted with Douglas livery rather than for any particular airline. The plane is on a tarmac outside a hangar with crowds of people around it.

Charles Zweigart Aviation Postcard Collection

Contents of the Collection The Charles Zweigart Aviation Postcard Collection is comprised of approximately 5,000 postcards collected by Zweigart from 1941 to the early 2000s. Most of the postcards are related to commercial aviation aircraft, but some feature airports. A small amount of postcards have been used but the bulk of them are pristine and have never been posted and have no personalization.The collection was originally housed in twenty-six (26) three ring binders but were removed for preservation....
