John W. Lambert Photograph Collection

Scope of the Collection The John W. Lambert Photograph Collection consists of 9,687 black-and-white and color photographs, 2,048 black-and-white and color negatives and nine photographic slides, as well as a small amount of textual material primarily documenting air operations during World War II. The strength of the collection is that it includes visual documentation of Army Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Allied aircraft in combat around the world. Ralph J. Moore Aviation Collection

Abstract

Ralph James Moore (1909-1963) graduated from the Boeing School of Aeronautics in 1931, was a member of the Army Air Corps during the 1930s, and worked with the Civil Aeronautics Board through the 1930s and 1940s. The collection consists of manuscripts, maps, photographs, and clippings collected by Moore during his career in the Army Air Forces. The majority of the collection is comprised of Aircraft Accident Reports from the Civil Aeronautics Authority (CAA).

William Orthman World War II Collection

Abstract

William Orthman (1911-1990) was drafted into the United States Army in 1942. He served in the China-Burma-India Theater as Public Relations Officer. The collection is comprised of 340 photographs and a small amount of textual materials from his 1945-1946 service.
