August G. Blume World War I Eastern Front Research Collection

Overview

August G. Blume (1927-1993) was an author and historian focused on the Eastern Theater of World War I. This collection consists of his writing, correspondence but most notably a large number of photographic images of the Eastern Front during World War I that Blume attained during his research. The materials span the early 1900s to 2000.

The Charles Langmack Pilot Collection contains textual materials, scrapbooks, and photographs concerning the life and military career of Charles Langmack (1907-1999). Langmack was an early Oregon aviator, and this collection equally documents both his civilian and military aviation careers.

Russian Transpolar Flight Collection

Abstract

The Russian Transpolar Flight Collection primarily documents the June 1937 transpolar flight by Russian aviators Valery Chkalov, Georgii Baidukov, and V. Belydakov with photographs, clippings, audio-visual materials, and various textual materials. It also features a small amount of material about the July 1937 transpolar flight by Russian aviators M. Gromov, Sergei Danilin, and Andrei Yumashev, as well as general Russia-related research materials.
