Scope of the Collection The John W. Lambert Photograph Collection consists of 9,687 black-and-white and color photographs, 2,048 black-and-white and color negatives and nine photographic slides, as well as a small amount of textual material primarily documenting air operations during World War II. Abstract

Jerry Michaud (1924-1982) Michaud served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Naval pilot in the Pacific Theater. Thelma McGraw (1920-1996) She worked as a stewardess with United Airlines (UAL). The collection contains textual materials, black-and-white photographs, and ephemera associated with their 1942-1952 naval and commercial airline careers, respectively.

Abstract

Clyde Edward Pangborn (circa 1890s-1958) was born in Bridgeport, Washington and was a military pilot and barnstormer. The collection contains photographs and illustrations, correspondence, advertisements, newspaper clippings, a date book, military service records, and ephemera related to the Pangborn's personal life, military service, and barnstorming career from approximately 1912 to 1981.

Contents of the Collection

The Kenneth Woods Naval Aircraft Photographs is a collection of twenty-two black-and-white photographs featuring United States Naval Aircraft, primarily floatplanes and flying boats from 1918-circa 1920s. The photographs are 18x22" and most do not have captions or identifying information. A variety of aircraft are featured, including the Vought OS2U Kingfisher, the Consolidated PBY Catalina, and the Curtiss SOC Seagull. The aircraft are pictured in flight and on the water.
