Abstract Lee R. Embree (1915-2008) was born in Iowa, enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1936, and was assigned to the 38th Reconnaisance Squadron as an aerial photographer during World War II. Embree was at Hickam Field, Hawaii during the 1941 Pearl Harbor bombing and took several photographs. The collection contains photographs, textual materials, audiovisual materials, and a scrapbook that relate to Embree's military service and photography as well as his post-war photography activities.

Content Description The William Firth Photograph Collection is a small collection consisting of 29 black-and-white 8x10-inch photographs depicting various aircraft including Boeing, Consolidated, Curtiss, Douglas, and Fleet models from circa 1920s-1950s. The majority of images depict side or three-quarter views of aircraft on the ground, although some images depict aircraft in flight. Abstract James D. Griffin was an engineer for McDonnell Douglas Corporation. The collection contains five hundred and ninety-six (596) photographs, likely collected and notated by Griffin, featuring primarily Douglas Aircraft Company airplanes manufactured during the 1910s-1970s but also, to a lesser extent, other manufacturer models; including Aero Spacelines, Boeing, Consolidated, and Northrop. There is also a small amount of clippings, newsletters, and articles.

Abstract William Orthman (1911-1990) was drafted into the United States Army in 1942. He served in the China-Burma-India Theater as Public Relations Officer. The collection is comprised of 340 photographs and a small amount of textual materials from his 1945-1946 service.

Contents of the Collection The Glenn Y. and Ronald L. Robinson Photograph Collection is largely comprised of a mixture of United States Air Force and Boeing Company photographs, circa 1930s-1980s.
