Abstract Julius A. Barr (1905-1939) was born in Normal, Illinois and spent time as a personal pilot to Chinese military figures in the mid-1930s as well as worked as a Boeing test pilot from 1938-1939. The collection contains four clippings related to Barr's time at Boeing and his death.

Contents of the Collection This small collection consists of two items: a black-and-white photograph and a printed copy of e-mail correspondence related to the photograph. The 4x5" photograph depicts Bell test pilot Robert Courter wearing the Bell Rocket Belt with a child's doll on the back of it during a tethered test flight inside a hangar in, late December 1964.
