Scope of the Collection The John W. Lambert Photograph Collection consists of 9,687 black-and-white and color photographs, 2,048 black-and-white and color negatives and nine photographic slides, as well as a small amount of textual material primarily documenting air operations during World War II. The strength of the collection is that it includes visual documentation of Army Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Allied aircraft in combat around the world. Carol (Nicholson) Lewis WASP Collection

Abstract

Carol (Nicholson) Lewis (1923-1987) joined the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) in 1943 and was assigned to Moore Air Base (Texas), Class 44-W-7. The collection includes official documents, photographs, correspondence, clippings, and ephemera related to Lewis' 1943-1945 WASP service. A small amount of correspondence and ephemera concerning her marriage is also included in the collection.

Abstract

The Paul A. Ludwig Military Aviation Photograph Collection contains 2382 photographic prints and negatives with a very small amount of textual materials collected by Paul A. Ludwig and ranging from the late 1910s through the early 1980s. The bulk and strength of the collection is photographs of World War II-era aircraft and squadrons. The collection is nearly all copy prints from a variety of institutions and dozens of private collections.
