The collection contains ten (10) photographs related to French aviation during World War I. The photos are primarily souvenir images with printed captions from a set entitled "Souvenir de la Grande Guerre 1914-1918." The images depict various French and German aircraft as well as significant figures and groups such as fighter ace Georges Guynemer and the Lafayette Escadrille.

Historical Note: Edmonds Historical Museum
The Edmonds Historical Museum opened in Edmonds, Washington in 1973 with the vision of "sharing the history of our community." The Museum is in a former Carnegie Library and focuses on local history and community with rotating exhibits and a permanent display called “The Changing Face of Edmonds."

This collection was donated to The Museum of Flight by the Edmonds Historical Society as it was outside their scope of collection. Ownership history of the materials before they were donated to the Edmonds Historical Museum is unknown.
