Glenn K. Stinson Stinson Aircraft Corporation Collection
Content Description
The Glenn K. Stinson Stinson Aircraft Corporation Collection is a small collection of printed ephemera produced by the Stinson Aircraft Corporation circa the 1930s. The materials were collected by Glenn K. Stinson; he had no relation to the Stinson company or family.
The bulk of the collection consists of a variety of advertisements and brochures promoting various Stinson aircaft. They include technical characterists, descriptions, images, and sometimes sales prices. Other materials include a small poster advertising flights in a Stinson 11-passenger plane; a Stinson-branded matchbook cover; an "Around the World Club" certificate recognizing 25,000 miles flown in a Stinson airplane; and logbooks and engine logs for Stinson N97038. There are two pieces of correspondence in the collection including a letter written by Stinson president Edward A. Stinson in 1930. Two photographs are also present: one black-and-white image of Stinson Reliant NC2330, and one black-and-white photographic postcard of a plane owned by Rogers' Air Lines.
