Contents of the Collection

The Duncan Emery Charles Lindbergh Photograph Collection is a small collection of three photographs that depict aviator Charles Lindbergh, circa 1927-1930.

One 8x10-inch hand-tinted print is glued to 11x14-inch cardboard and depicts Lindbergh, Mexican President Plutarco Elías Calles, and interpreter Colonel Alexander J. MacNab on the steps of a building. It is undated but is likely December 1927 during Lindbergh’s Good Will tour.

The other two prints are both black-and-white and include inscriptions. Both are undated but likely circa 1927-1930. One is 11x14-inches and depicts Lindbergh in a suit standing in front of a building. It has an inscription: “To Colonel Alexander J. MacNab / Sincerely / Charles A. Lindbergh.” The last print is 10.5x17.5-inches and shows a Lockheed aircraft in flight. It is inscribed “To Sandy MacNab / Charles Lindbergh / Anne Lindbergh.”
