Contents of the Collection

The William S. Zoller Pilot Collection is comprised of five Northwest Airlines strike posters. Two posters have 14 pilot signatures, including Zoller's. The posters were used by the pilots, likely during the August 1998 strike against NWA. The posters read: "Northwest pilots on strike" in red text and include the Air Line Pilots Association logo in blue beneath the words. The posters are 15x20-inches and have a white background with blue border.

Biographical Note: William S. Zoller

William S. "Steve" Zoller was a commercial pilot for over 30 years.

Zoller served in the United States Army from 1970-1971. In 1971 he had an interservice transfer to the the United States Air Force, where he served until 1976. He was stationed at various bases, including Langley Air Force base and Williams Air Force Base. During his service he worked as a pilot, instructor pilot, and wing life support officer and earned the rank of Captain.

After Zoller's military service, he worked as a pilot for various commercial airlines, including United Tech Co. (1976-1977), Braniff Airways (1977-1982), and Northwest Airlines (1982-2008). He also worked for the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) and with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). Over the course of his career, he has flown a variety of aircraft, including Boeing Models 727, 747, and 757; Cessna T-37 and T-38, and Douglas DC-8.

As of 2025, Zoller was living in Sammamish, Washington.
