Craig Cole Charles Lindbergh Collection
Contents of the Collection
The Craig Cole Charles Lindbergh Collection is quite small and holds three textual items related to an encounter between a Western Union Messenger Sergeant Harvey Seabrook and aviator Charles Lindbergh.
On September 13, 1927, Seabrook was assigned to deliver telegrams to Lindbergh while Lindbergh was at Sand Point Naval Station in Seattle, Washington. As part of the delivery, Lindbergh signed the delivery sheet receipt, which Seabrook kept as a souvenir. The original signed sheet is part of the collection and reads "C.A. Lindbergh." Also present is the September 1927 issue of The Messenger, Volume 3, Number 18, which includes an article about encounter and a photocopy of an August 27, 1974Seattle Post-Intelligencer retrospective article about the same event.
