Charles Lindbergh 1927 Flight Collection
Contents of the Collection
The Charles Lindbergh 1927 Flight collection is a small collection comprised of four items glued to a 12x16-inch matboard. Most notably, there is a first day cover issued on June 18, 1927 with a stamp that features the "Spirit of St. Louis." In addition, there is a reproduction of the New York Times front page headline "Lindbergh Does It!..." and a reproduction photograph of Lindbergh standing in front of the "Spirit of St. Louis" in a field. There is also a rectangular metal plate inscribed with "Charles A. Lindbergh / First Solo Non-Stop Flight / New York City - Paris, France / First Day Official Mail - 1927." It is unknown who compiled the items and mounted them on the matboard.
