Contents of the Collection

The Nancy Anderson Douglas DC-2 Collection is a small collection comprised of visual materials depicting a Douglas DC-2 in red and silver TWA livery. Three color photographs depict the DC-2 on display at The Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington. The materials were collected by Nancy Anderson, who co-piloted the Museum's DC-2 on several of its flights, including its final flight to the Museum for display. The three prints depict the DC-2 in flight; including with a Vought Corsair. One of the prints depics the DC-2 in flight alongside an SBD Dauntless with an undated clipping from the Long Beach Business Journal that states the DC-2 was crewed by pilot Dan Colburn, co-pilot Nancy Gunnin (Anderson), and John McWilliams. The 8 x 10 inch photographs have been removed from frames but are still attached to matboard. There are also two 16 x 20 inch lithographic reproductions of drawings, one of a DC-2 and one of a DC-3. Both illustrations were done by R.G. Smith.
