Earl J. Heroux Pan American Airlines Collection

 Collection — Folder: 1
Identifier: 2023-10-19-A
The Earl J. Heroux Pan American Airlines Collection contains visual and textual materials collected by Earl J. Heroux on a trip via Pan Am Clipper to Alaska. Although the materials were collected in 1940, other dates appear, including photographs dated 1927 and 1935.

The collection primarily includes 24 black-and-white photographs and 10 photographic postcards. Photographs depict aircraft; including in flight, in harbor, and on the ground. Additional images show aerial views, various town buildings; and people. Identified people include Earl J. Heroux, Wiley Post and Will Rogers. Identified locations include Ketchikan and Seward, Alaska. There is also one hand-tinted group photograph that features Wiley Post and Will Rogers and is inscribed by pilot Joe Crosson, also presumably in the image. Additional materials include a small amount of printed ephemera documenting his trip, including the menu from Heroux's flight to Alaska, his passenger ticket, luggage tags, a napkin, an air mail cover, two postcards, and a freight invoice for one suitcase.
