Neil Householder Aircraft Collection

 Collection — Box: One
Identifier: 2015-08-23
The Neil Householder Aircraft Collection is a small collection that includes textual materials and photographs related to three aircraft; the Boeing 2707 SST, the "Buffalo" experimental STOL, and Il Cigno, a Da Vinci-inspired glider, circa 1960s-2003. The items were given to or gathered by Householder during his time as a Boeing employee and, later, a restoration volunteer at The Museum of Flight.

Included in the collection are 30 black-and-white photographs of the Boeing 2707 SST wind tunnel model, a "information only" general arrangement diagram of the SST, and a folder of materials related to the "Buffalo" experimental STOL's first flight on May 1, 1972, including a first flight cover and photograph. The remaining materials pertain to the Il Cigno (The Swan) glider and includes clippings, photographs, and diagrams all recieved from John Grove, one of the three men who built the glider which now resides in The Museum of Flight.
