Contents of the Collection

The collection is comprised of primarily textual materials with two DVDs related to Dorie Moore's career as a flight attendant and purser with Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines, 2001-2012. The collection has been sorted into two series; Series I: Northwest Airlines materials and Series II: Delta Air Lines materials.

The bulk of the material is in Series I and is from Northwest Airlines and includes a flight attendant manual; blank employee forms, such as crew member declarations and pay sheets; a flight attendant announcement handbook; and Moore's 2001 Purser certificate of completion. It also includes a July 2008 letter from Northwest regarding the pending merger with Delta Air Lines and includes a DVD, "NWA History Video."

Series II, Delta Air Lines materials, includes booklets on flight attendant uniforms and service expectations; instructional materials, such as an evacuation prep list and emergency commands; and a mailer which included a Delta decal, paper airplane pattern, and DVD "Delta - One Great Airline." It also includes a certificate of accomplishment and November 1, 2012 letter from Delta congratulating Moore on her retirement and thanking her for 42 years of service.

Biographical Note: Dorie Moore

Dorie Moore was born in San Francisco, California on October 26, 1949. After college, Moore attended Air West training school and graduated on June 29, 1970. Moore worked as a flight attendant for Hughes Air West, Republic Airlines, and as a flight attendant/purser for Northwest Airlines and later, Delta Airlines, after it merged with Northwest Airlines. She retired on November 1, 2012.
