Prentice Arthur Kusabs Boeing B & W (Model 1) photographs
Contents of the Collection
The collection is comprised of twenty-three (23) black-and-white photographs of the Boeing B & W (Model 1). The images were taken by Prentice Arthur Kusabs, circa 1919, and depict the two Boeing Model 1s aircraft that were sold to the Walsh Brothers' New Zealand Flying School. The photographs range in size from 1x2" to 3x4" and show the aircraft in flight and on the ground. A few images include unidentified people, some of whom are possibly the Walsh brothers, George Bolt, and Kusabs. One photograph has "Kusabs" handwritten in pencil on the reverse. The image depicts four men around an engine and their faces are mostly obscured so it is not certain which man is Kusabs. Only two other images have handwritten captions on reverse; one which reads "[Fal? Dougaville?] after hitting submerged log in river" and shows a seaplane in the water next to a boat. The words "Royal Mail" are visible on the fuselage. The second caption reads "Hold Her up!!!!!" and depicts an unidentified man, possibly one of the Walsh brothers or George Bolt, seated in an aircraft.
There are also seven envelopes, which the photographs were presumably originally kept in (see Processing Information note). Three of them are blank while three have handwritten captions including "Walsh Flying School George Bolt Mission Bay," "Aero enginer workshop Mission Bay," "Walsh's Flying School." One has a note on the front which states that the "collection material is similar to materials donated to MOTAT [Museum of Transport and Technology Auckland] in 2007."

Processing Information
