Contents of the Collection

The Marty Knutson Spyplane Scrapbook is comprised of assorted clippings and articles about various aircraft used for surveillance, circa 1950s-1960s. The materials are from various newspapers and magazines and cover aircraft such as the Lockheed U-2, Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, and Lockheed YF-12. Lockheed U-2 Pilot Marty Knudson is also mentioned in a couple of clippings.

Most of the material is affixed to the pages with glue, tape or staples, but some are loose. There are no captions and the bulk of the clippings are from unidentified newspapers. It is unknown if the scrapbook was created by Marty Knudson or on his behalf by family members.
