Photograph album (2 of 2), circa 1920s
Contents
Photograph album, circa 1920s. The album contains seventy-five (75) black and white photographs, mostly uncaptioned, of family, friends, and outings. Only the first half of the album contains photographs. A number of pages have come loose and some photos were evidently removed at some point in the album's history. One page has the inscription "George Huse, Seattle."
Images feature:
- One (1) carte-de-visite style card photo portrait of an elderly couple, with handwritten inscription in pencil on reverse: "Monks, for George." Credited to Criley & Wagner of Butler, Pennsylvania.
- Numerous views of men and women, often on various outings. Images include young men and women at the beach, families with babies and young children in parks, families in front of their homes, couples and individuals in 1920s fashion.
- Scenic views of rivers, mountains, waterfalls (likely Snoqualmie Falls), forests, and winter weather.
The connection between William Monks and George Huse is unclear, but George was likely a relative of some kind to the Monks family and this album may have been a gift to him.
