"Deed: Curtiss Motor Co. to Curtiss Aeroplane & Motor Corp." (document "78-6"), 1916 January 15
Scope and Contents
Deed dated January 15, 1916 assigning five parcels of land in Hammondsport from the Curtiss Motor Company to the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Corporation. The Corporation paid $69,215 for the parcels which are described in detail with specific reservations. The deed is signed by Glenn H. Curtiss as President of the Curtiss Motor Company and bears the company’s embossed seal. The document also contains four U.S. Internal Revenue stamps and a certificate issued by the Clerk of the Supreme and County Courts for Erie County that also bears a revenue stamp. The deed was notarized on January 15, 1916 and bears the signature of G.R. Hall, Secretary of the Company as witness. The deed was recorded in Steuben County on January 28, 1916 in Book 342 at page 344. 7 pages plus certificate plus back cover. Envelope also marked in red as “17”.
