"Erie Finance Corp. & Others Contract & Cancellation Of", 1916

 File — Box: 3, Folder: 14

Scope and Contents

Envelope (labeled "34") containing a proposed financing plan for the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Corporation, circa August 1916, signed by Glenn Curtiss. On December 6, 1915 the British Admiralty gave to the Curtiss Aeroplane Company an order for $11,013,000 for airplanes and motors, called the “Canada order”. On June 19, 1916, the Admiralty ordered the Curtiss Aeroplane Company to suspend all work then in progress on the Canada order. As Curtiss had been relying on the Admiralty for financing, this created an immediate financial need.
