Biographical Note: Lawrence P. Tanguay

Lawrence P. Tanguay worked for the Douglas Aircraft Company in the mid-twentieth century.

Lawrence P. Tanguay was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on January 15, 1917 to Peter and Juliette (Durochen) Tanguay. He graduated from Holyoke High School in 1935. By 1940 he was living in Los Angeles, California where he attended the Aero Industries Technical Institute. Some records show that during World War II, he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force Ferry Command as well as with the Army Air Forces, perhaps as a civilian. By 1944 he was working for the Douglas Aircraft Company, based out of Chicago, Illinois. His work with the Douglas Company included wartime service in North Africa with Project 19, the secret project that repaired and salvaged British aircraft in the lend-lease program.

On April 15, 1944 he married Cleda C. Williams in Oklahoma. Cleda had worked at Douglas Aircraft Company in Oklahoma prior to their marriage. They had a daughter, Judy.

Lawrence P. Tanguay died on January 1, 1991 in Clayton, Georgia.
