Biographical Note
John Olsen Lear was born December 3, 1942 to William P. and Moya Olsen Lear. He was most well-known as a UFO conspiracy theorist, pilot, and a one-time candidate for Nevada State Senate. In 1970, he married Marilee Higginbotham. John Lear died on March 29, 2022.

The William P. and Moya Olsen Lear Family Collection contains textual materials and photographs primarily related to the personal lives of William "Bill" and Moya Olsen Lear as well as John Sigvard "Ole" Olsen, Moya's father. A small amount of material pertains to extended Lear family members, including the Lear children and Lillian (Clem) Olsen, Moya's mother.
