Historical Note

Alaska Star Airlines was a regional air service in the territory of Alaska from 1942 to 1944, with headquarters in Anchorage. Established in 1932 as Star Air Service, the airline changed its name in 1942 after it acquired several smaller airlines. It operated as such until 1944, when it changed again to Alaska Airlines.
