Historical Note

Wings West Airlines was an American regional airline based at San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport in San Luis Obispo, California. Established in 1979, the airline offered passenger service throughout California as well as locations in Arizona and Colorado. In 1986, it started flying under the American Eagle name as a feeder for American Airlines. The airline effectively ceased operations in 1998 when it merged with Flagship Airlines and Simmons Airlines to form American Eagle Airlines, currently known as Envoy Air.
