Historical Note

Simmons Airlines was an American regional passenger airline. Established in 1978, its headquarters were originally near Marquette, Michigan, at the Marquette County Airport in Negaunee Township, although they were eventually moved to the Near North Side of Chicago, Illinois. The airlines ceased operations when it merged with Wings West Airlines and Flagship Airlines to form American Eagle Airlines in 1998.
